Overview
Sugar enjoys a key presence in the company’s agribusiness portfolio. Commencing its presence in the business with a greenfield unit in Ajbapur (Uttar Pradesh) in 1996, DSCL acquired another unit in Rupapur (Uttar Pradesh) in 2002. As a result, it has emerged as a major sugar manufacturer in central Uttar Pradesh.
DSCL has introduced progressive work practices in cane cultivation and production technologies, which are helping raise farm yield and improve production efficiencies. The focus is on the enhancement of the economic status of the farmers, the company’s principal partners in progress. Thanks to this perspective, the company’s Ajbapur unit has reported the quickest capacity growth for a unit in India’s sugar industry.
